- Die Forschungsstelle für Christlich-Jüdische Studien vom Fachbereich Erziehungs- und Kulturwissenschaften auf Antrag der Bibelwissenschaften der Institute für Evangelische Theologie und Katholische Theologie wurde im Jahre 1997 eingerichtet. Ihre Aufgaben bestehen in der Erforschung der jüdischen Kultur in Vergangenheit und Gegenwart, der Erforschung der Strukturen des christlich-jüdischen Gesprächs seit der Entstehung des Christentums sowie der Erforschung der Ursachen und Folgen des Antijudaismus. Da die Universität Osnabrück durch eine Schenkung seit 1995 im Besitz der ca. 12.000 Bände umfassenden Bibliothek von Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinrich Rengstorf ist, liegt ein besonderer Schwerpunkt in der Erforschung des Antiken Judentums. Um ein breites Publikum mit der Kultur und Geschichte des Judentums vertraut zu machen, werden regelmäßig stattfindende Gastvorträge organisiert.
- The Research Organization for Christian-Jewish Studies within the Department of Education and Cultural Studies was established in 1997 at the request of the Biblical Studies departments of the Institutes of Protestant Theology and Catholic Theology. Its mission is to conduct research on Jewish culture in the past and present, to study the structures of Christian-Jewish dialogue since the emergence of Christianity, and to investigate the causes and consequences of anti-Judaism. Since the Osnabrück University has owned the library of Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinrich Rengstorf—comprising approximately 12,000 volumes—since 1995, thanks to a donation, a special focus is placed on the study of ancient Judaism. To familiarize a broad audience with the culture and history of Judaism, regular guest lectures are organized.
